The Ministry of Energy intends to increase the tax on CO2 emissions and use these funds to compensate for the difference to producers of "green" electricity.
It became known about it on February 18 after a meeting of officials with representatives of RES generation, transfers interfax.com.ua.
"It will be fair: those who pollute the environment and negatively affect climate change pay," said Yuri Vitrenko, acting head of the Ministry of Energy. "Those who make living conditions better and the environment cleaner receive some compensation."
The Ministry of Energy is considering compensating for the "green" tariff by increasing the tax on CO2 emissions in the long run.
The Acting Head of the Ministry of Energy called on the representatives of RES generation to participate in the development of a roadmap that would allow to find ways to solve the problems accumulated in the industry and implement long-term prospects for the development of RES.
