In 2021, "warm loans" in Ukraine have been expanded to include energy storage systems, electric charging and smart electricity meters.
This was announced by the acting head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency Konstantin Gura during the live broadcast of Odessa Channel 7, talking about important initiatives next year, reports saee.gov.ua. "In 2021, such a popular program among the population as" warm loans "has been extended for individual homes and the list of equipment for which a loan can be attracted has been expanded," he explained.
"Now the participants of the program can receive a refund of 35% of the loan amount for the installation of batteries, electric chargers and smart meters." In addition to the housing stock, the budget sector also needs to increase energy efficiency. In the country about 100 thousand buildings of budgetary institutions need to be thermo-modernized. An effective mechanism that stimulated the attraction of private investment in energy efficiency projects in schools, hospitals and other institutions was energy service.
To date, more than 550 ESCO contracts worth more than 1.2 billion hryvnias have been concluded for the modernization of budget institutions. Of these, 59 contracts are in the Odesa region. "Now we are working to unlock the energy service," explained Konstantin Gura. "Together with the Ministry of Energy, draft laws have been prepared to launch ESCO procurement at utilities and energy facilities - we hope that the parliament will support the necessary changes."
