The first "green" supermarket has opened in Kyiv region

The Silpo supermarket chain has opened the first recycling format store built using "green" technologies. It is located in Sofiyivska Borshchahivka, at 1/102 Kyivska Street, My Kyiv Region reports.

A solar power plant consisting of 664 panels is installed on the roof of the supermarket. This station will minimize the use of electricity from the grid. Outdoor lighting is also equipped with batteries and solar panels. In addition, the store is equipped with a heat pump, which allows you to use electricity in smaller quantities. Trolleys and baskets are made of recycled fishing nets, ropes and plastic. In addition, there is covered parking for bicycles and bicycle rental, as well as gas stations for electric vehicles.

There is a Silpo Recycling recycling station on the territory of the supermarket. You can bring sorted waste there: plastic, paper, glass, etc. For each kilogram, the buyer's account is credited with points that can be used for purchases in the Silpo network.
The supermarket is built in accordance with the requirements of BREEAM - the international system of certification of environmental friendliness of buildings. Among its main conditions: minimal impact on the environment, use of energy efficient equipment and compliance with environmental goals. According to the network's energy audit engineer Bohdan Dyke, next year the company plans to receive a BREEAM certificate.
